Description: The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is short, long body with erected ears. They are a shor legged breed that have broad flat skull and a fox-like head. Their eyes are dark and nose is black. Unlike the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, these dogs have no tail or a far less bushy tail. The coat of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is straight, smooth, and water resistant, with a dense undercoat.

Temperament: This kind of breed is a very intelligent, obedient, devoted and an obedient dog. Also, they are extremely active, alert and will bark to raise the alarm when something goes wrong making them an effective watchdog. These dogs could be a good family pet and a companion too. As early as possible, they should be trained of proper socialization to avoid over protective behavior in their adult stage. Most of them are outgoing dogs that makes them to be restless and on the go always compared to Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Pembrokes are herding dogs by nature and is reflected in the way they try and herd people as well as other animals, often by nipping at the heels, which is something that will need to be addressed. Owners do need to exercise some assertiveness, as these dogs can be independent and strong minded. However, he is also attentive and eager to please, often excelling at obedience training.

Activity: The Pembroke will do fine in indoors so they could live in an apartment. They require moderate amount of exercise, and will enjoy playing games and joining in family activities. And a daily walk would also do good for them.

Grooming: Their water-resistant soft coat is easy to groom. They need to be brushed daily most especially during those times that they are shedding heavily. Heavy shedding occurs on a seasonal basis and lightly sheds on the remaining years.

Health Problems: Life span of Pembrokes is around 12-14 years and some health problems to look out for with this breed are: PRA, vWD, spinal problems, lens luxation, retinal problems, and HD. Excessive jumping, lack of support when handled, or excessive weight gain can all add to the risk of spinal problems for this breed.
